National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), India's biggest power utility company, has empanelled 15 agencies for its creative duties, following a pitch process, which began earlier in May this year. The 15 agencies are Adman Advertising, Airads, BEI Confluence, Concept Communication, Continental Advertising, Critique Communication, Garuda Advertising, Goldmine Advertising, Graphisads Advertising, Interads Advertising, National Advertising, Perfect 10 Advertising, Pressman Advertising, RK Swamy BBDO and Sobhagya Advertising. The account size is pegged at Rs 50 crore and the empanelment is for a period of three years. It is a 360-degree account involving television, print, outdoor, radio and BTL activities. NTPC, incorporated in 1975 as a public sector company and a wholly-owned by the Government of India, has lined up an ambitious Rs 22,000 crore funding from Power Finance Corporation (PFC), LIC, domestic banks and financial institutions for capital expenditures for the next three fiscal years. On a standalone basis, NTPC would invest Rs 17,700 crore in three years. The company with its JVs and subsidiaries will add 3300 MW during FY10. During the fiscal, four power projects will be commissioned - Sipat Stage I (2x660 MW), Dadri Stage II (2x490 MW), Kahalgaon Stage II and Korba Stage-III, 500 MW each. NTPC also plans to develop its own coal mines as well at Pakri Barwadih. The company has outlined a blueprint to add 22,400 MW capacity by 2012 with an investment of Rs 55,000 crore. 70 per cent of the fund requirement will be borrowed, while the remaining 30 per cent will be funded by internal resources. |
