    Saurabh Dasgupta, executive creative director, Innocean Worldwide, has been appointed on the jury panel for the New York Festivals (NYF) 2009. He will judge the Innovative Advertising category.

    Dasgupta is the fifth Indian to be on the jury panel for NYF 2009 after KV Sridhar (Pops) and Nitesh Tiwari of Leo Burnett, Agnello Dias (Aggi) of TapRoot India and Kamlesh Mehta of RMG Connect.

    The sub categories for Innovative Advertising include Websites/Microsites/Online Advertising, Website Craft and Technique, Online Advertising, Guerrilla Marketing/Ambient Media, Advergame/Viral Marketing, Alternative and Innovative Media, Guerrilla Marketing/Alternative Media Craft and Technique.

    Sengupta has judged the Innovative Advertising category in 2008 and 2007, he was on the jury of the Design and Print category. He has also judged the Summit International Awards and the Marketing Effectiveness Awards (MEA).

    Recently, three Indian broadcasters, Multi Screen Media India, New Delhi Television (NDTV) and Zee News won awards at the TV Programming and Promotion category at NYF Awards, which recognise work from all over the world in all media, including television, cinema, print, outdoor, interactive, design, mixed media, collateral, radio and student advertising.

    The NYF, now in its 51st year, has three standalone international competitions – the Midas Awards for financial services communications, the Global Awards for health-care communications and the AME Awards for advertising and marketing effectiveness.
