Star Pravah, the Marathi general entertainment channel (GEC) from Star Entertainment Media Pvt. Ltd. (SEMPL), will launch three new shows - Char Chaughi, Daar Ughada Na Gade and Jodi Jamli Re. J. C. Giri, executive vice-president and general manager, SEMPL, said, "With the launch of these three shows, we aim to provide distinctive storylines and innovative formats that will not only engage our viewers but leave them asking for more." Daar Ughada Na Gade is a comedy show, wherein three 'doors' hold the key to the various stories promising surprise entries throughout the show. Directed by Shrirang Godbole, this is a half hourly comedy, airing every Monday to Wednesday at 10.30 pm premiering on February 23. Jodi Jamli Re, is a 'match making' reality show, which will offer a rainbow of emotions and entertainment. Premiering on March 5, the show is produced by Endemol India and will be aired every Thursday and Friday at 10 pm. Speaking about Jodi Jamli Re, Deepak Dhar, country head, Endemol India, says, "After having produced hugely successful Hindi GEC shows, Endemol India is proud to cater to their regional audience. With Jodi Jamli Re, we plan to expand our territories and eventually also intend to introduce more shows with enthralling concepts." Char Chaughi is a story of four sisters, which centers around their desires and their dreams. Produced by Camsclub and directed by Girsh Vasaikar, the show features actors like Neelam Shirke and Sunila Karmebalkar in leading roles. Present at the launch function were some of the names in the Marathi TV landscape like Atul Parchure, Kavita Lad, Pushkar Shrotri, Atisha Naik, Suneela Karamblekar, and Sulekha Talwalkar amongst others. The line-up of producers and directors like Shrirang Godbole, Rakesh Sarang and Neena Raut were also present at the occasion. |
