Radio City will introduce a six day contest, Superstars Nimma Manege Minchi Neev Avar Jothege (Shine with the stars in your own home). Every day from January 19 to January 24, the station will feature a Superstar on its Whatte Fun Mornings show with RJs Pradeep and Varsha. The stars include Siren Sharmila Mandre, Chetan, Yogesh, Ramesh Arvind, Komal and Tara. Listeners need to SMS to the radio station as to why they want the star to visit their home, to be part of this fun contest. Rana Barua, executive vice-president and national head, programming and marketing, Radio City, said, "This 6-day extravaganza is set to bring Sandalwood closer to each and every Bangalorean like never before. We promise listeners even more excitement in the months to come." The contest comes close on the heels of the station's Tharegalajhatre (Festival of Stars) in December last year, which featured 30 of Kannada Cinema's top luminaries on-air in a 100 hour radio extravaganza. According to the latest RAM figures, in the Bangalore radio market, Big FM has the top spot with a 25 per cent share, a decrease of 0.4 percentage points from Week 51. With a fall of 2.7 per cent points, Radio Mirchi continues in the second spot, with a 17.8 per cent share. AIR FM Rainbow retains the third spot, with a market share of 11.3 per cent, an increase of 0.9 percentage points. Moving up two places, Radio One is at No. 4, with a share of 8.8 per cent, an increase of 0.8 percentage points. Slipping by one position to No. 5 is S FM, which holds a share of 8.6 per cent, a decrease of 1.1 percentage points. Among other stations in Bangalore, Radio City has an 8 per cent share and is at No. 6; Fever FM has 7.7 per cent; AIR FM Vividh Bharati has 5.7 per cent; Radio Indigo has 2.8 per cent; Gyan Vani holds 2.3 per cent; and Akashvani holds the least with 1.9 per cent. |
