DQ Entertainment (DQE), an animation, gaming and entertainment company, has signed an exclusive licensing deal with Walt Disney Television International for three animated series. DQE has co-produced the three renowned series- Twisted Whiskers, Ratman and Sandra, which will be aired on the Disney channels from next year. "In the Indian context this deal is a major landmark because all the three series are co-produced in Hyderabad and the entire 52 series comprising 11 minute episodes each will be broadcast in the country," Manoj Misra, vice-president, licensing and distribution, DQE said. Twisted Whiskers, a computer-generated imagery (CGI) animated TV series, is co-produced by American Greeting and US-based Taffy Entertainment. While Ratman, a traditional 2D animation series is co-produced with Stranemani of Italy, Sandra is a co-production by DQE and Spanish firm Imira Entertainment. DQE is a next generation animation and game FMV (full motion video) production house in the country with global clients with expertise in 2D traditional, 3D, 2D digital, and live action production. "These new shows will add on to this comprehensive entertainment platform built with international and local content. The new shows will be aired for Disney audience in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka," said, Tapaas Chakravarti, chairman, DQE. |
