Manmohan Shetty, founder, Adlabs Films, which was acquired by Reliance ADAG, has floated a new company christened as Walkwater Media. Walkwater Media will focus on film production and strategic media investments. The company has a line-up of over 20 films for completion in the next two years with an approximate outlay of Rs 450 crore. Says Pooja Shetty, Manmohan's daughter and director of Walkwater Media, "Film production and co-ventures will be the focus of business at Walkwater. We have 29 films at various stages of production. There are allied businesses which we are looking at, including setting up amusement parks and investments in various media ventures." Joint ventures in film production space would form one of the core business areas for the company. Some of the forthcoming ventures include Prakash Jha's multistarrer Raajneeti, Ajit Pal directed Victory and Boney Kapoor's sequel to India which will mark the comeback of Sridevi. Adds Pooja, "Rajneeti, Victory and India are the first three projects of the company. We are also looking at television content in a big way." |
