    Sony to launch Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar, Kabhi Kabhii Yaar

    Sony Entertainment Television (SET) India will launch an new reality dance show called Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar, Kabhi Kabhii Yaar, which is produced jointly by Balaji Telefilms and Popcorn Entertainment.

    The show launches on July 9, every Wednesday and Thursday at 8.00 pm. The judges are filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, choreographer Ganesh Hegde and actress Sameera Reddy. TV actress Rakshanda Khan and TV actor Sachin Tyagi will host the show.

    The show features 7 celebrities. Seven contestants will dance with their real as well as reel partners. The judges and the studio audience will vote for the pair, which has the most chemistry. The channel claims that the show will be a novel concept in the clutter of dance reality shows.

    Said Albert Almeida, executive vice-president and business head, Sony Entertainment Television, "We at SET believe that this show will become a trendsetter among dance reality shows. In Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar, Kabhi Kabhii Yaar, the viewers will witness for the first time the actual chemistry between their favourite star and his/her reel and real partner respectively."

    Balaji Telefilms has recently forayed into non-fiction shows. Apart from the SET India show, the production house is also launching an talent hunt reality show, Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket, on 9X.
