BBC World, the BBC's international 24-hour news and information channel, has signed an agreement with Credit Suisse to sponsor a unique series searching for the greatest visionary of all time. The interactive television series, Visionaries, pits luminaries from the world of arts, music, literature, science and architecture, against each other and encourages viewers to vote online for their most inspirational figure. Presented by BBC World presenter Mishal Husain, the series will focus on some of the world's most famous icons from Mozart and Madonna, to architects Christopher Wren and Norman Foster. Advocates, to be announced at a later date, will be chosen to represent each visionary and convince viewers that their icon has had the most impact in the field. Visionaries launches on BBC World on May 26 with a special introductory programme and will be followed by the series which starts on September 1. The sponsorship package for Credit Suisse includes on-air and on-line advertising around the Visionaries series, which will be seen by BBC World's 65 million weekly viewers throughout the globe. |
