The Advertising Club, Calcutta on Friday announced the awards for creative excellence in advertising for 2007. While JWT India bagged the national agency of the year award, the honour's for Kolkata's top agency went jointly to Bates David Enterprise and O&M. In the category section, Radio Mirchi won the best radio advertisement spot award for its cricket world cup promo. That's not all. Radio Mirchi jointly bagged the second place in the same category along with O&M (for Khadim's promo). This time Radio Mirchi won for its football fever promo. Bates David Enterprise, Mumbai, won the best service advertisement for the Times Book campaign. If creative excellence is critical to an agency's success, can the client be far behind? Advertising Club Calcutta crowned the top national advertiser to Wrigley's India which bagged a series of awards for the Orbit White campaign. These top awards were based on the maximum number of category awards won and nominations. The awards this year were judged by advertising veterans like Mohammed Khan, Syeda Imam, Ram Ray, Dhritiman Chatterjee and new gen creative wizards like Sumanto Chattapadhyay and Anurag Hira. This year, the organisers received over 1050 which is nearly three times over last year. The awards were based on work submitted across India for the period of January 2006 to March 2007. The best continuing campaign award was won by Grey Worldwide for Wrigley's Orbit White brand. The top consumer durable campaign came to JWT Kolkata for Century Ply. Interestingly, Bates David Enterprise won the honour of best advertisement for sponsored/promotional event for Advertising Club Calcutta's campaign. The Best TV spot in FMCG category was bagged jointly by Black Magic for Chlormint and Grey Worldwide for Orbit White. The organisers also went beyond the traditional categories to honour creative eminence in new marketing channels. The best direct marketing award was won by JWT Mumbai for DTC and O&M Kolkata bagged the best retail marketing honour for Steel junction. On the other hand, the top media innovation award was won by Bates David Enterprise Kolkata for Diet Coke. |
