Orissa Television Limited (OTV) has announced to launch a mega serial on Lord Jagannath, which will go on air from September.

Chittaranjan Nayak, General Manager, OTV said that the channel proposes to spend about Rs 2 crore for production of the serial, which will be the first of its kind in Orissa. Though the channel has added many entertainment programmes to its basket, the recently-launched mega serials 'Damini' and 'Uttardayee' have become popular.

OTV has roped in the icon of Oriya film industry, Basant Nayak of Brajaraj Films to provide a proper shape the proposed serial. The channel is banking on his experience to give the viewers a serial of their liking. There will be a content advisory board to finalise the script. B P Rath, Director, OTV hoped that the serial would be popular among the Oriya viewers.
