CNN-IBN, has launched a reality show that encourages inclusive journalism. 'Summer Showdown' focuses on issues that affect the common man every summer. CNN-IBN and IBN 7 editor-in-chief, Rajdeep Sardesai, says, "Summer Showdown promises to be a captivating account of citizens from across the country on the civic conditions of their cities. With inclusive journalism as our mantra, CNN-IBN hopes to not only give voice to the plight of citizens but also elicit among others a sense of civic responsibility" A family from each of the country's five main cities, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata, will be followed for five weeks. They will be asked to report on the civic problems that threaten to become a crisis this summer. Daily, short stories of three-minute stories on rampant civic chaos will be carried on CNN-IBN's news. These will be made by the citizen journalists, culminating in an hour-long special on May 26. |
