The creative team of Raghu Bhat and Manish Bhatt of the McCann Erickson Mumbai office have considered options outside the agency, and the process of McCann to pull out all the stops to hold them back, has turned red. However, even the promise of being NCD's may not be enough, since the duo claim to have never been influenced by ranks or designations. Both have joined Contract, the agency where they had begun their career before moving to O&M. Prasoon Joshi, Executive Chairman, McCann Erickson India, said, "Manish and Raghu are very valuable to me and I am not happy with their going. But it is their personal ambition to go back to the agency they had started from and that is something I have to respect. I wish them luck in their road ahead." According to Manish Bhatt, "We look for neither designation nor money, both are a by-product of performance and we've never considered them in the past either." He adds, "Prasoon does not want us to quit. It's not a question of what he's offering us, but now we've made our minds up all the ways. We have a more than rational relation with Prasoon and have been among the people closest to him over the last few years. We've spent three years here and it's not unnatural to consider opportunities, now we are on our way to Contract Advertising." |
