Coke's Gupta resigns, joins ABP Ltd

Vikas Gupta, Marketing Head, Coca Cola India has put in his papers at the flavored water giant. Gupta is scheduled to join the Anandabazar Patrika (ABP) Ltd as President, Businessworld magazine and Chief Marketing Officer of the group. He will continue to be based in Delhi.

Gupta, who had replaced Shripad Nadkarni last year is credited with several new initiatives for Coke. He has been with the cola major for over 10 years, including a five-year stint at Coke headquarters in Atlanta. Before joining Coca Cola India in 1994, he worked with Brooke Bond and P&G India. Gupta is an alumnus of XLRI (Jamshedpur) with specialisation in marketing & finance. Gupta has also worked with Brooke Bond and P&G India in their marketing departments prior to the 1994 era.

Meanwhile, Coca Cola India is repatriating Indians from overseas postings, including China, Sri Lanka, Denmark and Atlanta. The latest to join Coca Cola India from abroad will be Sumanta Datta, the current Brand Director of Coca Cola China. He will be joining CCI as Region Vice-President (North Operations) from June. Others include Vikas Chawla (Sri Lanka), Sanjiv Gupta (Denmark), Mansoor Sidiqqui (Atlanta).
