GV Films has signed an MoU with R D Rajasekhar for the Turn Key Production of films for the year 2006-07. Rajasekhar is an acclaimed director of cinematography and has won many awards. Some of his films like Gajini, Kakka Kakka have won rave reviews in the entertainment and media industry and have been major box office hits. GV Films have signed an MoU with him for the production of the immediate four movies in the current year. These movies will have the music composed by Harris Jeyaraj, who needs no introduction to the South Indian Music Industry. Harris Jeyaraj was also the Music Director for the Company's previous successful movie Ullam Ketkumme, which is now being released in Telugu on March 30, 2006 as Preminchi Choodu. Meanwhile, director Teja has completed shooting his new film Oka V Chitram. Always on the look out for new talent, Teja, who cast new artistes in his first two films, Chitram and Jayam, has cast a bunch of newcomers in his new film too. Pradeep Pinisetty, Vamsee, former Miss AP Poonam Kaur, Madhushalini and Manishka have been cast as leads in the movie. This time around, Teja has joined hands with senior director Dasari Narayana Rao and points out that he set out to do something different with the film. The film is completed and is now in production. "After the government announced the new sops for the film industry, I thought this would be the right time to make a lowbudget film. Dasari, who was known for introducing new artistes to the film industry, also thinks along the same lines. So we got together and came up with the idea for Oka V Chitram," says Teja. Cleverly, he is avoiding an April release since a huge number of big banner films with top stars are due out that month. Not wanting his film to get lost in the crowd, he says he will release the film at an appropriate time since it is a low-budget film with new artistes. "There are many big films vying with each other in April and it will be tough to get my film in theatres then," he said. |
