Nimbus Sports, which bagged the four-year television rights for Indian cricket for a whopping $612 million, has reached an agreement with broadcasters to telecast live international cricket played in the country to viewers in the US, Canada, Caribbean, UK and the Middle East. Nimbus managers are learnt to be in serious deliberation with various parties although it was not learnt just who the interested players are. Repeated queries to the Nimbus office or its officials have failed to elicit a direct reply. Nimbus has reached agreements with leading broadcasting platforms in major territories. The contracting process for most of the deals is expected to be complete by Monday, February 27, following which details of the broadcast platforms in each territory shall be announced, a short Nimbus release said on Thursday. Nimbus did not names the platforms, however, named the countries where the sports rights agency has reached agreement. \"USA, Canada, Caribbean, UK and the Middle East, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will get live television coverage of the England tour. For the first time, broadcast will reach new territories such as Greece and Fiji," Nimbus said. Also sources inform that Nimbus has awarded Sky Sports, the rights to broadcast England's tour of India starting with the First Test from Nagpur on March 01, 2006. Said Digvijay Singh, CEO, Nimbus Sport, "The combined reach of the various broadcast platforms will provide an unprecedented reach for showcasing Indian cricket, in addition to keeping Nimbus on track for its revenue targets." India will get to see the series on Tamil, Telugu networks apart from DD National and a major satellite sports channel. The series would also be broadcast in India on All India Radio (AIR) and one private FM broadcaster. The series will also be shown on regional networks of DD as well. As already reported by Televisionpoint.com, the radio deals have been reached for UK and Middle East. While BBC Radio have signed up for four-year deal for UK, ARY has bought radio rights for Middle East.
