After Months of hunting for a title sponsor Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has finally found a title sponsor just eight weeks ahead of the India Fashion Week (IFW). The apex body has managed to rope in ITC Wills Lifestyle as its title sponsor for the forthcoming IFW beginning April 5-9 at the Grand, New Delhi. Responding to an SMS query Rathi Vinay Jha, director general of FDCI said, \"We are having a press conference on February 15 at 11 a.m. in Delhi.\" However, sources within the advertising circles confirmed the move. Prior to this Lakme and IMG along with FDCI hosted the first six fashion weeks. After their contract ended in June 2005, in September 2005, FDCI gave the commercial representation and event management of the IFW to Percept D'Mark. After this IMG-Lakme too decided to have its own fashion week. The Lakme-IMG fashion in Mumbai begins from March 28. ITC Lifestyle has established a nationwide retailing presence through its specialty stores in the last five years. |
