More tha three persons were injured when men driving motorbikes threw bombs into the compound of a Tamil daily called Sudar Oli in Colombo on Monday. Staff of Sudar Oli said that the attacks were instigated by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), whose leader had been accusing the daily of being a mouthpiece of the LTTE. Ratnasingham, a senior journalist with the daily, said that the attack was meant to silence the voice of the Tamils, but Sudar Oli would not be deterred from performing its duty. |
