Salora International Limited has signed a supply and distribution agreement with a leading Malaysian company to distribute its range of TEAC brand consumer electronic gadgets in India. The product range includes plasma TVs, CTVs, LCD TVs, digital audio and video systems, computers and communication products. Salora has also signed up with a Korean company to distribute their popular 'iRiver' MP3 players in India. The 'iRiver brand' has 18 models of MP3 players, which will be available between the price range of RS 5,000 to RS 20,000. "We see India as a growing market for our product range, mainly in the MP3 player segment and this is the right time to enter India, but in another one year we may look at the option of bringing semi-knocked down units and assembling them at Salora's manufacturing plants."
