UTV, the Ronnie Screwvala promoted production house, has bagged a 12 crore animation deal from broadcasters and production houses from a wide variety of markets in Europe, Canada. Commenting on the new orders , Ronnie Screwvala, CEO, UTV yesterday in an Interview to CNBC TV18 said, "We have been seriously in the animation field for the last 5-6 years. I dare say that we have been a little distracted with Hungama and a movie agenda for the last two years." He added, "For the first quarter these are the initial orders that we have got right now. The basic background is that there are four different overseas orders. Two are from Dutch companies, one from a Canadian company and one from a company in Scotland. Totaling to about Rs 12 crore. Outside of that, we have signed two co-production agreements where we will develop along with partners in Scotland and Holland for the entire global market." According to Screwvala, the company is hoping for a great third and fourth quarter. He said, "We have got some exciting things going forward in the third and fourth quarter.The second quarter would be a little lag. But for the third and fourth quarter we see a lot of excitement." |
