A 45-second advertising film exhorts people to check power thefts. The film, produced by the UP Power Corporation Limited, has an animated character called Khushmat Lal as its main protagonist, while the Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of a sutradhar (compere). As Khushmat Lal prances across the screen and uses katia (illegal) connection to light up his house, Big B does the narration, which says, "Yeh hain Bhaiyya Khushmat Lal, dikhne mein lagte khush-haal, khate hain chori ka maal, roz pole mein taar phasante, muft ki bijli khoob jalate (This is Khushmat Lal, he looks quite well off, but steals electricity and misuses it)." MR Bachchan then exhorts people, "Chuka kar jalye, bacha kar jalaye, bijli ki keemat sabhi ko bataye (Pay your bills, save your electricity; tell everyone the cost of electricity)." |
