Sirius Satellite Radio Chief Executive Mel Karmazin is considering a bid for Walt Disney Corporation’s radio unit. Sirius’s interest would raise eyebrows in the media world, given the view within the satellite radio industry that the best days are past for traditional or "terrestrial’’ radio.

"Buying terrestrial radio stations makes no strategic sense for Sirius, terrestrial radio is a business that focuses on disparate local markets, while Sirius' business provides a national service. Buying ABC's radio networks equally makes no sense." Said Sanford Bernstein analyst Craig Moffett.

Disney- owned ABC Radio is more than six times the size of Sirius.
