Shane Warne's off-field sexploits have reportedly cost him his lucrative commentating job with Australian broadcaster Channel 9.

Kerry Packer terminated an $300,000 worth contract with the world's highest wicket-taker after learning of his involvement with a 25-year old British student, according to reports in News Corporation's newspapers.

Warne, who leads the all-time bowlers' list with 583 Test wickets, has been involved in several controversies before, including the one in which he was reported to have sent a series of lewd text messages to a British nurse two years ago.

Channel 9, who had stood by the player voted by Wisden as one of the five cricketers of the century, seems to have finally lost patience and told him good bye, reports said.
