Radio Mirchi celebrates Mother's Day in understanding

Ma. Mom. Mummy. They may be different words but have the same emotion attached to it. The very mention of the word 'Mother’ brings the feeling of love, affection, care, warmth and understanding. Right from the time we come into this world, our whole world revolves around our Mother. Radio Mirchi celebrates every mother this Mother’s Day on May 8, 2005.

The radio station will mark the occasion with a weeklong celebration. Everyday from May 2 to May 8, Khoobsoorat…an all women’s show, will profile women who have gone beyond the call of duty and done exceptional things for their children. Women who are being featured in this programme are Meeri Baruah (mother of an autistic child who now runs an NGO helping millions of such children), Neelam Katara (fighting for justice for his dead son), Honey Irani (bringing up children after a broken marriage), Shobha De (a rocking step mom) and Vinta Nanda (adopted a 5 year old child without marriage).

Moreover, there are lots of prizes waiting for the listeners that can be easily theirs by sharing some of their experiences. The IVRS contests are on from 8 am to 8 pm. In the Kyunki Maa Bhi Kabhi Beti Thi contest, listeners who are mothers can call and tell about one trait they disliked in their mother and have adopted the same after becoming a mother herself.

Mothers understand our needs and know all about us even before we actually realize it ourselves. But this 'sixth’ sense sometimes leaves us shocked and out of words when we realize that our deepest hidden secrets were never secrets! In the RAAZMA – Mummy Ko Sab Pata Hai Contest, listeners have to call and share such an experience.
