Advertising agency Crayons Advertising and Perfect Relations, an image management consultancy, has won the Congress' contract for the October 13 Maharashtra State Assembly Elections for advertising (creative and media) duties and public relations, respectively. For creative duties, the Congress has a Rs 30 -crore budget set aside, while for the PR, the amount is in the range of Rs 10 crore to Rs 12 crore. Crayons won the mandate after a multi-agency pitch involving agencies like JWT, Saatchi & Saatchi and Euro RSCG. As per the contract, the agency will handle the complete communication and media planning in television, print, radio, outdoor, online and other media for the brand - the corporate duties of Maharashtra Congress. Interestingly, Crayons was one of the agencies along with JWT that handled the Congress campaign for the Lok Sabha Elections in 2009. However, in the General Elections, while Crayons was the first agency to be given the mandate, JWT was also roped in to work on the creative's close to the poll date. The PR involves liaisoning with the media, organising exclusive coverage and logistics management for media persons in helping them cover important events and meetings. The PR agency last week handled its first event - CM Ashok Chavan's interaction with select media persons. |
