Ghosh began his career in 1997 with Electrolux, Singapore in a marketing function. Two years later, he moved out to set up a brand consultancy firm, Vertebrand Management Consulting, which had clients such as MTR Foods and SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals. In April 2001, he joined one of his clients, MTR Foods as brand manager, where he spent about four years. His next destination was Tata Chemicals, where he handled Tata Salt. After spending a year at Tata Chemicals, Ghosh joined Mother Dairy in 2005 as marketing manager. In 2008, he was designated marketing head, dairy and foods, Mother Dairy. At Mother Dairy, he has been actively involved with two food brands – Mother Dairy and Safal. One of his important contribution to the company was the "Mother Dairy Tie-up Pilot Project" with Punjab National Bank for villagers at Khakhuda district. Under this project, Mother Dairy has established several BMCs (Bulk Milk Chillers) in 70 villages where the farmers supply their milk. During this period, a complete re-branding exercise for Mother Dairy was taken up, and a range of dairy products and ice-creams were launched across markets. A re-branding exercise for Safal was taken up in 2006, and the brand was extended into other processed fruit and vegetable products such as juices, drinks and frozen snacks. |
