The number of new launches, having a daughter as a protagonist, has proved too much for the audience. The subject has ensured sampling across general entertainment channels, but, will all boil down to freshness and engagement level to differentiate the winners from the losers.

Star Plus has launched Sabki Laadli – Bebo, which is about a family which craves for a girl child. Produced by Spheres Origins, the show debuted on March 11 and will be aired at 10 pm.

Colors has also tapped this segment with the launch of its Is Des Na Aana Laado fiction show, which airs at 10:30 pm. Having tasted huge success with Balika Vadhu, which is based on child marriage, Laado deals with female infanticide.

Zee TV will launch Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, which is the story of Laali's optimism about life and her courage. Produced by Swastik Pictures, the show will highlight that part of India which has never been brought-up so strongly on any of the GECs. It premieres on March 16 at 9.30 pm.
