    MTV launches Splitsvilla 2, retains Vodafone as title sponsor

    MTV, the music channel from Viacom18 stable, has launched the second season of its romance reality Splitsvilla from March 7, 2009. The channel has retained Vodafone as the title sponsor for the new season.

    The show will see nine boys and nine girls competing to win as a couple, who are entitled to get Rs 10 lakhs, as well as, win a chance to host their own show on the channel.

    Ashish Patil, general manager and senior vice-president, creative and content, MTV India, says, "Discover a completely twisted side of romance where the fastest way to man's heart is through his chest, with a sharp knife in second season of the successful Splitsvilla in a bold new format. It's guaranteed to set the temperatures rising."

    Hosted by Nikhil Chinappa, the show is being shot at Goa. The second season will have each week the boys and girls competing to flatter the king and queen of Splitsvilla, who will be revealed on the first episode. The contestants will be asked to perform one task every week and on the basis of their performance, they will be dumped.

    MTV has partnered with Levi's Sykes as its cool quotient partner, while Cosmopolitan is the style partner. It has roped in Red FM as radio partner, IBN7 is news partner, PVR Cinemas is multiplex partner, Airtel digital TV is DTH partner, Blu Fi is innovation partner, Gelato Italiano is chill out partner, Sweet World is candy partner and Sports Bar is club partner.
