Nick, one of the fastest growing kids entertainment channel in India, has launched its grand summer promotion - The 'Nick Fundoo Superstar Contest'. The 4-week promotion will culminate with 4 lucky winners from India, who will get a chance to star in a Nick Music Video along with Nick toon stars and the television celebrity Mona Singh. The uniqueness of the promotion lies in the fact that for Nick all kids are superstars and therefore…no auditions, no tests, no judges and no jury…they just need to be their 'fundoo' selves. The 4 week promotion begins on May 7th and ends on June 3rd. Apart from the 4 winners, who'll feature in the Nick music video, thousands of other kids also stand to win other prizes – there are 28 computers and over 5000 Nick slime kits to be won. Apart from starring in the Nick Music Video, Mona Singh has been roped-in by Nick as the brand ambassador for this promotion and she'll promote the contest in some of these 38 cities. Nick has also roped-in Swanand Kirkire (known for his lyrics in Parineeta & Lage Raho Munnabhai) and Vishal-Shekhar (the well-known duo from Bollywood) for the 'Nick Fundoo Superstar Contest'. While Swanand will write lyrics for the song, Vishal-Shekhar will compose the music. Bosco Bhandarkar will direct the music video. Commenting on the promotion, Nina Elavia Jaipuria, Vice President & General Manager – Nick India, said, "Nick has always believed that all kids are equal and equally talented and Nick Fundoo Superstar Contest is a true reflection of that philosophy. With so many stars around I might just get stage fright!" laughs Mona Singh Speaking on his association with Nick Fundoo Superstars Contest, Swanand Kirkire, says, "I am glad to be a part of the Nick Fundoo Superstar Contest because of the sheer challenge and excitement of working with kids. The concept excited me enough to make the transition from 'gandhigiri' to 'fundoogiri'." According to Vishal-Shekhar, "We strongly agree with Nick's philosophy that all kids are equal and it is our duty as adults to not judge them at their age on any particular criteria. We are excited to be a part of this unique initiative and look forward to the challenge of creating music that captures the imagination of kids – music that's funny, contemporary, high-energy and yet simple to comprehend." On the marketing front, Nick plans a 3600 campaign around Nick Fundoo Superstar Contest, comprising ground activation, print, online, in-theatres and television. On ground, there would be a fleet of 8 Nick wagons that will tour 38 cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bhopal, Indore, Jaipur, Agra, Vadodara, Surat, Ahmedabad, Kanpur, Nagpur, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Udaipur, Kota, Pune, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Moradabad, Meerut and Bangalore amongst others. Each wagon will have an MC who would engage with the kids through music, dance, games & prizes, thus extending the Nick experience beyond television. The Nick Fundoo Superstar contest will also be promoted across channels (general entertainment, movies and regional), print and online media. The Grand Finale of the Nick Fundoo Superstar Contest will be the Release of the Nick Music Video on Nick in July 2007. |
