Deccan Chronicle Holdings Limited, one of the leading English daily in the country today reported a net profit of Rs 161.57 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007 a jump of 138 % as against Rs 67.87 crore posted in the same period of last fiscal. Net Sales for the year grew by 67% to Rs 552.78 crore as compared to Rs 330.88 crore in the year ago period. Earnings Per Share (EPS) for FY07 worked out to Rs 7.51 (face value of Rs 2)is compared to Rs 16.46 (Rs 10 face value) in last fiscal FY06. Net Sales for the fourth quarter stood at Rs 147.55 crore, a growth of 65 % as compared to Rs 89.50 crore posted in the same period last year. Net profit for the quarter was at Rs 25.59 crore, a jump of 153% as against Rs 10.11 crore posted in the same period of last fiscal. DCHL has increased its advertisement tariff by 30% with effect from May 2007 across the segments. The board also approved the appointment of T Vinayak Ravi Reddy; Managing Director as Vice-Chairman and P K Iyer, Executive Director has been re-designated as Managing Director. |
