ESPN Star Sports will telecast a specially created six episode program on Sachin Tendulkar to salute the Indian batting legend. Naseeruddin Shah, the great Bollywood actor will host the story and legacy of the maestro who recently scored the highest number of centuries in Test cricket. The series are in two part's- Sachin - The Story and Sachin - The Legacy. The Story series will attempt to take the viewer through the life and times of India's finest Star with each episode using two outstanding centuries of the little champion. The episodes will use archive match footage with some rare and unseen recording from Sachin's glorious career so far. The ever versatile Bollywood veteran, Naseeruddin Shah will act as the chronicler for the series narrating the life journey of Sachin. The series will focus right from the Start when a 13 year old created records in a domestic match to the iconic batsman who recently scored his 35th century in his 125th test match and is still going strong. The Legacy series will feature an unmatched collection of thoughts and opinions of the sports greatest icons gauging Sachin's impact on the game and assessing his place in history. The series will have comments and opinions from the world's cricketing luminaries like Steve Waugh, Ritchie Benaud, Wasim Akram, David Gower, Kepler Wessels, Herschelle Gibbs, Dickie Bird, Rahul Dravid, Muralitharan, Sir Richard Hadlee, and Allan Border among other stalwarts who have witnessed the maestro in action. ESPN Star Sports will salute the indomitable spirit of a cricketer who has come of age following all criticism, injury, furious spells and ups and downs in cricketing form to be regarded as the best batsman ever. His record spanning career will be sketched in the six special episode promising insights in to the life of a true genius. The series will be on air in Hindi on Star Sports and in English on ESPN. |
