Intel Corporation said its venture investment arm, Intel Capital, has completed investments in three Indian companies from the recently announced $250 million Intel Capital India Technology Fund. Intel chairman Craig R. Barrett had announced Intel's decision to invest $250 million in Indian technology companies. Accordingly, the companies receiving investment are Mobiapps, Persistent Systems and Maya Entertainment. The quantum of investment in each company was not disclosed. "We look forward to working with Mobiapps, Persistent Systems and Maya Entertainment to enable these companies to grow and thereby stimulate technological innovation in India," said Arvind Sodhani, president of Intel Capital. Maya Entertainment is follow-on investments in companies that have been part of the Intel Capital portfolio since 2000. Maya Entertainment, based in Mumbai, is an animation and visual effects studio for film and television in India. |
