Film Producer Akbar Khan has filed a police complaint against the crew of Star News for trespassing his property and manhandling his wife and assault. The incident occurred on Tuesday night when Khan, who produced and directed the recently-released Taj Mahal, returned to his Juhu bungalow from nephew and actor Fardeen Khan's mehendi ceremony at J.W. Marriott Hotel. "My wife was at home as our son was down with fever. When I returned home at 1.15 a.m., I heard some noise in the compound. I learnt that a crew from Star News had trespassed our property and were shooting a video at my house. When my wife tried to stop them. A crew member struck her hand resulting in a pulled tendon and swollen finger," said Khan. However, Star News denied that their crew hit Khan's wife. "On hearing that there was an I-T raid on Akbar Khan's house, our crew went there to cover the story," an official said. Dismissing allegations of manhandling Khan's wife, he added, "We would never behave badly with a lady. In fact, it was Akbar Khan who assaulted our reporter and cameraman. He tore the reporter's shirt and broke the camera's lens. Then he even went on to detain them at his place." |
