Channel 7 claims to emerge as the No. 1 News channel within two quarters of launch across all Hindi speaking markets. In less than 6 months it has grown by leaps and bounds and in arguably the most cutthroat genre of broadcasting, it has already achieved two major milestones: A Channel 7 program – 7 Special – reached the list of Top 10 News Programs Channel 7 has hit the No. 1 position with its coverage of the Ganesh Visarjan. Sharing his happiness on witnessing the television rating data, Piyush Jain, COO, Channel 7 said, "As is evident from the given statistics, the channel today has surged ahead of competition and has firmly established itself in the genre of news, especially during the auspicious Ganesh Visarjan. Achieving this number 1 position has been the crowning moment in the project’s lifecycle. Especially since this wasn’t some provocative sting operation, not an exclusive investigation, not a big budget show, but simply a case of quality, compelling coverage of a public domain event, which all competitors were addressing with equal fervor, but the viewers preferred Channel 7 across the nation." Commenting on the success, Sanjay Gupta, Editor & Group CEO of the Jagran Group, said "The last five weeks have been particularly rewarding as the channel has shown a phenomenal growth rate of almost 80 per cent. A rate that is far higher than the genre growth or that shown by any of the existing players, that too on a healthy viewer base. It’s a tribute to our credible content, quality production & international packaging and ability to present exclusive and breaking news regularly." A comparison of the first six month performance of channels launched in the last year shows that Channel 7 is not only the fastest growing News channel, it is also the fastest growing New channel and today Channel 7 boasts connectivity into 80% of the North-West-East market, ensuring Channel 7 a healthy reach and competitive opportunity to deliver to its viewers compelling content. An accomplishment that surpasses most other new launches, especially impressive for a new broadcasting company, launching its first channel, it claims. |
