Channel [V], the youth entertainment and music channel from Star India, has licensed its iconic fun characters, Simpoo Singh and Lola Kutty to Random Magazine for publication. The magazine, which is published by Twenty Onwards Media, has been bringing humor to stands across the country since June 2008.

The two characters will be used as an intrinsic part of the content for the monthly magazine, which claims to have a circulation of about 35,000 copies.

SS Sodhi a.k.a. Simpoo has enthralled audiences with his speaking style and his unparalleled wit. He will feature in a series of columns, which hover around his known qualities like 'motivasson, dedicasson, voice with vibrasson'. Helping Simpoo will be Lola Kutty, who has taken time off from her busy schedule to allow herself to be featured in the magazine.

Sheetal Sudhir, creative Director, Channel [V], says, "This is yet another step to interact with our viewers through a magazine on a monthly basis. We are sure that readers will find them as lovable and whacky as on television and would enjoy reading them month after month."

Nanette D'sa, senior vice-president, licensing, Star India, says, "These characters resonate a great combination of wit and creativity and that's what encouraged us to look at a possibility of licensing them to a magazine where they make humorous reading."

Jatin Varma, publisher and editor, Random Magazine, says, "To entertain our readers through this relationship, we are looking at bringing in a lot of value for our target group."
