V for Vendetta, the critically acclaimed graphic novel by Alan Moore and David Lloyd, is No. 8 on the BookScan Adult Fiction Trade Paperback list for the week ending March 26, 2006. BookScan is A.C. Nielsen's sales and marketing information system that allows publishers to gather Point Of Sale information from a growing list of over 4,500 retailers. V for Vendetta was originally published as a trade paperback by DC Comics in 1988. Today DC Comics, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company and the world's largest English-language publisher of comics, currently has more than 500,000 copies of the book in print.

For the week ending March 26, 2006, the V for Vendetta trade paperback was No. 4 on the Barnes & Noble Trade Paperback Fiction list and No.1 on their Graphic Novel list. The book was No.10 on the Borders/Walden Trade Paperback Fiction list and topped their Graphic Novel list at No. 1. It was the third bestselling book of the week overall for Amazon.com. Last week, the V for Vendetta graphic novel debuted on USA TODAY's bestseller list at No. 89; this week it moves up to No. 40. The graphic novel was the No. 1 reorder title for the week of March 14-20 for the comic bookstore distributor, Diamond.

A Warner Bros. Pictures film based on the V for Vendetta graphic novel is currently playing in theatres. The film, starring Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving and directed by James McTeigue, debuted at No. 1 at the box office and has currently grossed over $49 million in its first 13 days of release.
