Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network Limited (SABTNL) owns the Television channel - SAB TV which was launched on April 23, 2000. SAB TV is a 24 Hours Hindi Language General Entertainment Channel, transmitted digitally through the Asiasat 3S Satellite. In March 2005, SABTNL) has entered into an long-form agreement with SET Satellite (Singapore) Pte LTD to sell the SAB TV brand, 1,305 hours of programming and all the related assets for $ 13 million, as the valuation of the broadcasting company.
The channel is currently available as a free to air service. SAB TV provides an entertaining mix of programming for the entire family in the form of game shows, sitcoms, soaps, chat shows, mythological and variety entertainment programmes and now even SAB News which delivers News and Current Affairs.
The Founders - Mr. Gautam Adhikari: Born on 23rd September 1950, Mr. Gautam Adhikari, completed his graduation from the J.J. School of Arts. He also has his name listed in the Limca Books of World Records as the only Director in the world for having directed more than 1500 episodes. Mr. Gautam Adhikari began his career as a vizualizer in an advertising agency and gradually became the Art Director in some of the leading agencies. He has proved himself in cracking some great media campaigns in last couple of decades.
Mr. Markand Adhikari: Born on August 26, 1957, Mr. Markand Adhikari began his career with an advertising firm way back in the 80s. Mr. Markand Adhikari began this venture in association with his brother, Mr. Gautam Adhikari. Markand took pride in taking all the challenges faced by him while working hard for this agency. With television industry's commercialization, Mr. Markand Adhikari set his eyes on broader horizons. He pioneered the trend of offering sponsorship-based programmes on Doordarshan. This was a new concept and had high stakes involved. However, with a strong will and determination, Mr. Markand decided to take all obstacles in his stride and created milestones out of them. He succeeded with the marketing of the Adhikari Brothers productions in regional languages like "Bandini" and Damini" on the National Network.
